Deeply Routed.

Deeply Routed is an experiment that Holden began in January of 2023 for The MCA in Chicago.

This body of work is a collection of sonic elements as they naturally occur in our world. Magee began exploring these sounds by recording his commute from class to class. The objective of the work is to challenge listeners not to become complacent in their listening. Deeply Routed is a challenge for its audience to realign themselves with the most basic yet important sounds in our lives…the ones we tune out. This work aims to showcase the most beloved characteristic of human existence: our candid experience.

The sound installation debuted at the museum in June of 2023.
